Changelog
What changed in OmniRush
Releases of the desktop app and the command-line tool, newest first. Every desktop build, with its checksums, is on GitHub, and every CLI version is on npm. Both update themselves.
Desktop app 3.5.7
- Groundwork for occasional sponsored messages; switched off.
CLI 2.5.6
- Groundwork for occasional sponsored messages; switched off.
Desktop app 3.5.6
- The sandbox reconnects on its own after it stops while the app is open, for example after a long idle time.
- Large dependency installs no longer fail a turn in the sandbox.
- Tool calls are closed correctly when a run is stopped or the app quits.
- Security fixes for links, deep links and the developer tools port.
CLI 2.5.5
- The sandbox reconnects after it stops while a chat is open; installed packages are kept.
- Large dependency installs no longer fail a turn in the sandbox.
- Tool calls are closed correctly when a run is stopped or the app quits.
- Security fixes for sign-in, logout and the local proxies.
Desktop app 3.5.5
- Esc now stops an automatic compaction straight away.
- The app repairs its local store on start when it was left damaged.
CLI 2.5.4
- Esc during an automatic compaction really stops it, and the next prompts are answered straight away.
- A prompt waits at most 30 seconds for an automatic compaction before it goes out.
Desktop app 3.5.4
- When the app cannot start, it explains why and offers a reset.
CLI 2.5.3
- Ordinary source files with names like secret.rs or Token.php are no longer mistaken for key files and left out of workspace sync.
Desktop app 3.5.2
- Long chats are compacted automatically, so they stay fast.
CLI 2.5.2
- Long chats are compacted automatically after a set number of prompts (40 by default), never in the middle of a turn, with a note when it happens.
- A prompt sent during a compaction starts a turn of its own.
CLI 2.5.1
- A chat started in the home folder keeps the files the agent worked on; the home folder itself is never synced whole.
- A leftover installer lock no longer stops the next start, and omnirush doctor explains PATH problems.
Desktop app 3.5.1
- Windows: faster, more reliable start.
CLI 2.5.0
- Frontier Buildathon: omnirush buildathon shows the event, lets you join, and lists updates from the organisers.
Desktop app 3.5.0
- Frontier Buildathon card and an updates feed in the app.
CLI 2.4.18
- Chats in the sandbox also record the processes, listening ports and runtimes inside it, so projects can be set up again more faithfully.
CLI 2.4.17
- .env template files (.env.example, .env.sample and similar) are synced with their values cleaned; .env files themselves stay out.
CLI 2.4.13
- Your computer stays awake while the agent works, so long tasks are not cut short by sleep. omnirush keep-awake off turns it off.
Desktop app 3.4.5
- On macOS and Windows, projects that already have builds for your machine keep running on your machine; clean projects use the sandbox.
- Chats in the sandbox say so in one line, with how to switch it off.
Desktop app 3.4.4
- Clearer Linux sandbox setup: a card per project with live download progress and one clear next step when a runtime is missing.
- Existing chats keep running as they are when the sandbox is turned on; new chats get the sandbox.
- Git works inside the sandbox with your own name and email.
- Projects up to 2 GiB are synced (was 256 MiB), with a free-space check.
CLI 2.4.9
- Guided sandbox setup with live progress, and a short omnirush sandbox status.
- Linux packages include bubblewrap, so the sandbox needs nothing extra on most machines (Ubuntu 23.10+: run sudo omnirush sandbox enable once).
- Git works inside the sandbox with your own name and email.
CLI 2.4.7
- The agent works from OmniRush's own instructions with built-in best-practice guides for setup, features, bugs, tests, refactors, builds and reviews. On by default.
CLI 2.4.5
- Quitting is instant on Linux and macOS: syncing finishes quietly in the background.
CLI 2.4.4
- Steer the agent while it works: a message sent mid-turn is read at its next step.
- Long chats with many turns and sub-agents stay quick.
Desktop app 3.4.3
- Steer a running turn, and prompts are never held back by the app's own bookkeeping.
- Updates work for older desktop builds.
Desktop app 3.4.1
- Sandbox images are published and pinned, so the sandbox sets itself up on Linux, macOS and Windows.
- Windows can use OmniRush's own WSL image for the sandbox.
CLI 2.4.0
- An optional Linux sandbox per project folder: omnirush --sandbox, or omnirush sandbox on. It uses bubblewrap, Podman or Docker on Linux, and container tools on macOS and Windows.
- Package installs the agent runs (npm, pip, cargo, apt and more) are recorded with their versions, so a project can be set up again the same way. Your own terminal is never changed.
Desktop app 3.4.0
- An optional Linux sandbox for each project, with the best sandbox tool on each computer and a choice in Settings.
- Package installs the agent runs are recorded with their versions, so a project can be set up again the same way.
- Fewer routine notifications, and quieter voice recording.
Desktop app 3.3.0
- Sessions also record which files outside your project the agent used (temporary files, inputs it read and a few allowlisted config files with secrets removed), after you accept the updated terms. Credential files and other home files are never saved.
CLI 2.1.0
- omnirush usage shows today's allowance, when it resets in your local time, and your rewards.
- Every model your account can use appears in the model list.
- Files you mention with @path in a prompt are attached.
